Vertical Voices Concert Project
Libor Hofman reported on the current state of preparations for the Vertical Voices concert tour. Both the organisational arrangements and promotional activities are progressing according to plan. Joint and individual posters have been prepared, promotional materials for concert organisers have been distributed, and publicity is being carried out through the Czech Handel Society's website, social media channels and regional cultural institutions.
The Committee took note of the report.
The Society's International Activities
JUDr Jiří Janoušek and Dr Magdalena Šmídová Turchichová reported on their participation in the Handel Festival in Halle. They informed the Committee about the course of the festival, the working meetings they had held, the contacts they had established, and the opportunities for further international cooperation involving the Czech Handel Society.
Among other matters, the Committee considered whether the Czech Handel Society should become a foreign corporate member of the newly established Italian society. The Committee made no recommendation and left the decision to the Chairman's discretion when attending the constituent meeting, taking into account the level of the as yet unresolved costs associated with such membership.
The Committee took note of the report.
Website and Publishing Activities
Jan Kučera reported on the Society's ongoing editorial work on its website, in particular on recent and forthcoming reviews and other material currently being prepared for publication. The discussion that followed reaffirmed the Society's established editorial policy of maintaining a factual and constructive tone in all texts published on its website.
Proposal for a Seminar on Adam Václav Michna
The Committee discussed at length Jan Kučera's proposal to organise a seminar on Adam Václav Michna. The discussion considered the academic, organisational and personnel aspects of the proposed event. No definite conclusion was reached during the meeting.
Following the meeting, Jan Kučera informed the members of the Committee by e-mail that he was withdrawing his proposal to organise the seminar on Michna. The matter was thereby closed without any further discussion.
Review of Tasks Arising from the Previous Meeting(s)
The Committee noted that the tasks assigned at previous meetings were being carried out on an ongoing basis according to their urgency and the time available to those responsible for their implementation. No new tasks were assigned at this meeting.
Any Other Business
Under Any Other Business, the members of the Committee were informed about the Society's ongoing activities and other projects currently in preparation.
